West Washington Madison, GA 30650

Opening Reception May 3, 6-8
On view through July 28, 2012

Greg Benson (MFA ‘92), Kim Shockley Karelson (BA’86, Cortona) and Jill Schultz McGannon (BFA’85, MFA’88, Cortona) are the featured artists in the up and coming exhibition 3 Points of View: Landscapes presented by the Madison Artist Guild. Each has created landscape paintings from his or her point of view.

In spite of making his life in Georgia, Greg Benson never quite shed his Penn. upbringing and many of his most recent paintings fuse childhood memories with the still intact scenery of Lower Millford Township Pa. Kim Shockley Karelson is a fourth generation Shockley, a family that has lived in the Madison area for over 100 years. She enjoys painting the southern landscape from intimate vignettes to grand vistas. Jill Schultz McGannon paints realistic landscapes, figure, and still life in oils, preferring to work from life whenever possible. Her favorite destinations for Plein air landscape painting include the Georgia coast, the mountains of North Carolina, the hills of California, and the Italian countryside.

This exhibition is the 2nd of 4 annual exhibitions sponsored by the Madison Artist Guild. 3 Points of View: Landscapes opens May 3, 6-8 kicking off the Madison Tour of Homes and running through July 28, 2012. For more on the artists, and information and directions to Town 220 visit these websites:

I was in Cortona in 1977 and would love to re-connect with my friends from that time. I was looking for Susan Knight and Paulette Roberts, and of course anyone else who remembers me. Hope your all well!!! Jill
